Community Program

The Community Program

provides fundamental instrumental instruction in a group setting in schools and community center.

“This program sets our school apart from others in the district, and it shows.”

Principals have told us that their biggest struggles in providing quality music programs for their schools surround:

  • 1: Ease of Access: Finding quality programs and teachers
  • 2: Affordability: Finding funding for music education activities
  • 3: Sustainability: Finding a program that aligns with school culture for years to come

Schools can now have the SOUNDS Academy program in their schools. Contact us to set up a conversation to see if our Strings Program is a good fit for your school. In starting, your school will go through the following phases:

Music Week

Year Long Classes

Music Week

To educate and excite students about the possibilities of playing string instruments

To raise awareness and collaboratively seek fundraising opportunities in the community

Year Long Classes

To teach, mentor, and provide musical experiences and opportunities to students through the school strings program

Classes can be during school or after school

To create and provide data in order to advocate for music education opportunities

To provide information to schools and SOUNDS Academy in order to constantly improve the opportunities that we provide for students

Schools will participate in four 45-minute sessions to cover:

Day 1: Introduction of Instruments (with performance)
Day 2: Instrument Petting Zoo
Day 3: School Performance
Day 4: Registration and Instrument Sizing

SOUNDS Academy will provide music instruction to the students

Classes are aligned with the state standards, SOUNDS Academy core values, and school culture

Students will be evaluated on the following:

  • Character Strengths (creativity, leadership, perseverance, resilience, teamwork)
  • Playing Ability
  • Academic Grades
  • Attendance

Students and parents will learn about instruments, program, and benefits

SOUNDS Academy will work with school to collectively raise money to supplement the school program

We provide all instruments, music, books, instructors, music training program, and practicing technology for the students

Easier for principals to work with

Free for the school to use to communicate with the community for music education advocacy and fundraising purposes
