Jackie Marotta

Jackie Marotta

Teaching Artist (Saxophone)

Jackie Marotta is a classical saxophonist and music learning and teaching student at Arizona State University. While attending high school in the Dallas, Texas area, Jackie was fortunate enough to receive world class music education and wants to give all students that kind of opportunity.

Jackie has always been an educator, beginning with giving math lessons to her stuffed animals in elementary school. Her passion for music and music education blossomed as she entered high school and worked with a variety of inspirational music educators. These key people taught her that music can teach not only how to play an instrument, but also life skills such as perseverance, communication, compassion, and more. She has experience in teaching many things, from private saxophone lessons to swim lessons, to training coworkers at her other jobs.

Jackie also has experience as a performer. She played at Carnegie hall in a concert band at the age of 15, was a soloist in the ASU Maroon and Gold concert band, performed with the Fiori and MuXing saxophone quartets, and has mastered a multitude of solo classical saxophone works.
