Program Manager
Jade Deatherage is a Phoenix-based saxophonist and music educator. As a performer, Deatherage is a multi-award winning saxophonist and avid chamber musician. Throughout her musical career, she has performed as a soloist in recital and concert settings, as a soloist with orchestra, and has been a member of several celebrated saxophone quartets.
Deatherage is a strong proponent of chamber music and is a founding member of Kodachrome saxophone quartet, with whom she was awarded several first prize medals in international chamber music competitions, has reached countless students through educational outreach, and commissioned several new works. Deatherage is also a member of the Driftwood Quintet, a chamber group dedicated to crossing genres and bending boundaries in classical music. A multi-instrumentalist, she has performed on television and in orchestral and musical theater settings on a variety of instruments, ranging from cello to piccolo!
Believing strongly in the multiplicative and life-changing effects of musical education, she is an educator in the Phoenix area, and has held the position of graduate teaching assistant for the ASU Saxophone Studio. Deatherage is recently completed her doctorate at Arizona State University under the instruction of Dr. Christopher Creviston.
As of Spring 2026, she serves as the Program Manager of SOUNDS Academy, helping transform lives by empowering youth through teaching music and character values, with a commitment to reaching underserved communities.
