At SOUNDS Academy, we believe music goes beyond the stage. Music education is a pathway to confidence, creativity, and leadership. The SOUNDS Academy Masterclass Experience was created to give our students an impactful opportunity: stepping into a classroom-style setting with professional musicians who challenge, encourage, and inspire them to grow. This immersive experience places students face-to-face with working artists who model both musical excellence and dedication.

During the Masterclasses, students perform live for professional musicians, teachers, and invited guests, including family members. Each student receives real-time feedback, hands-on instruction, and mentorship designed to sharpen their skills while building upon character values. 

We are honored to kick off this series partnering with Lunar Calendar, a local arts collective known for reimagining chamber music in a modern, immersive context. Blending classical foundations with contemporary sounds like pop, rock, and electronic music, Lunar Calendar creates bold, visually engaging experiences in unconventional spaces. Their commitment to innovation, mentorship, and community aligns with the mission and vision of SOUNDS Academy.

This partnership is especially meaningful as Lunar Calendar co-founder Julz, a former SOUNDS Academy Teaching Artist, returns to pour into the very community that helped shape their artistic journey. Their firsthand understanding of the impact SOUNDS Academy has on students and families makes this Masterclass not just a workshop, but a full-circle moment of mentorship and legacy!

The excitement doesn’t stop here! The SOUNDS Academy Masterclass Experience continues with our next Masterclass featuring The Phoenix Symphony on February 28 from 6:00-7:00 PM. This is an experience you absolutely won’t want to miss! This powerful session will give students another rare opportunity to learn directly from professional musicians and deepen both their artistry and leadership. This is a growing series, with a third Masterclass to be announced!
